Another week, another must-win for the Washington Football Team. Only so many can be lost before the season itself suffers the same fate.

The Washington Football Team is 2-6 after dropping their Week 9 contest against the New York Giants by a score of 20-23. Ron Rivera continues to insist that Washington is still in the NFC East race — and from a pure numerical standpoint, he’s not wrong — but the team can only manage one or two more losses before they’re out for good.

A loss at this point in the season would be especially detrimental to the Washington Football Team’s playoff hopes, for the sole reason of the team’s level of competition. Over the next three weeks, Washington plays the Lions, Bengals, and Cowboys — three beatable teams that a playoff contender would ideally triumph against.

This stretch will be illuminating for the Washington Football Team, and already, they’re not off to a good start. Getting swept by the 2-7 Giants is a big red flag, and if Washington can’t prevail against Detroit today, they may have to kiss their contention hopes goodbye and officially pivot to the consolation prize of an early draft pick.

The game will kick off at 1:00 PM EST later today, and it’ll take place at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. To watch, you can follow the action live on FOX Sports, provided that you’re in the local area (I am for once. Let’s gooooo!). If not, don’t fret; you can live stream the battle on NFL Game Pass or FuboTV, and follow along with our coverage! Make sure you browse our pregame links so you know what to look out for.
