Washington Football Team players to watch vs. Detroit Lions.

The Washington Football Team is looking to rebound off a loss to the New York Giants in Week 9 but their Week 10 matchup won’t be easy.

Washington is taking on the Detroit Lions, a 3-5 team that is desperate for a win of their own and is coming off a bad loss against the Minnesota Vikings. The Lions have some solid pieces, but injuries have taken their toll this season and their offense had a lot of trouble against the Vikings.

With Matt Patricia on the hot seat, the Lions should be motivated to win this game. They need a win to stay on the fringes of the playoff race and at least tick closer toward a .500 season. Washington also is technically still in the playoff hunt thanks to how bad the NFC East is, so the 2-6 team will be looking to rebound and earn their young squad a key road win.

It’s also worth mentioning that Alex Smith is returning to start, so Washington could be motivated to get their veteran leader a win as he makes an improbable comeback from a devastating leg injury.

This game is a real toss-up and while the Lions are favored, Washington should make a game of this. If they’re going to do that, they’ll need to get a strong effort out of these five key players.
