The Washington Football Team suffered more than a devastating loss to the Giants last Sunday.  There were positives and negatives, but a gruesome injury lingers over the organization and a season is on the brink of failure.

For the first time in 2020, the Washington Football Team was favored to win a game, but fate had another trick up its sleeve and the results were disastrous.

Snapping a five-game losing streak two weeks earlier, Washington entered the bye week with a resounding victory over a division rival.  Coming out of the bye, with plenty of rest and extra time to focus, the Burgundy and Gold figured to romp away with another solid victory.  It was anything but an easy game for the home team, however, and Washington went down after some late-game mistakes.

We return to the weekly five positives and negatives this week and there are plenty of the good and bad to talk about.  The biggest news coming from the game centers on a season-ending injury to quarterback Kyle Allen and how it will affect the Washington Football Team for the remainder of 2020.  How will Alex Smith fare as the new starter and can he withstand the rigors of eight games?  Is the division title still within reach or should the team focus on evaluations and the upcoming offseason?

In recent weeks, we have spent some time on how character building is helping the younger players, but losing game after game does take a toll.  A record of 2-6 is truly indicative of where the team stands today and these rookies and youngsters need to step forward in the second half of this season.  The “Five and Five” this week will focus a bit on the future.  With all of that in mind, let’s get to the week nine positives and negatives.
