Why the NFL likes the Redskins

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Redskins did both the NFL and the Indianapolis Colts a big favor this past Sunday by putting a large dent in the playoff hopes of the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Just two weeks ago the Jaguars were sitting atop the AFC South one game ahead of the Colts.  The Jaguars were on the verge of preventing Peyton Manning from reaching the post season for the first time since 2001. After a head to head loss to the Colts last week and a loss to the Redskins on their home turf, the Jaguars are rightfully on the outside looking in.  Jacksonville had [...]

Fire Kyle Shanahan? I think not….

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

Redskins fans are a very loyal and passionate group of people but sometimes that passion causes them to be a little too impatient at times and calling for the firing of Kyle Shanahan is one of those times…. Look I’m a Redskins fan and have been for quite awhile now. I was alive for each and every one of Joe Gibbs seasons as a Redskins head coach and I’m not just talking about the second go round either. I grew up on watching players like Art Monk, Darrell Green and The Hogs. So I remember the glory days when double [...]

Saints post game display no mark of a champion

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

The New Orleans Saints were the feel good story of 2009.  The perceived underdog regardless of personnel, recovered from the adversity of Katrina and instilled hope and joy into a city that needed it most.  They are the reigning Super Bowl Champions and are poised to make another run at it in 2010.  How quickly they seem to have forgotten. Following Monday Night’s victory over division rival Atlanta, a few defensive players including Jonathan Vilma took liberties over the Falcons emblem on the turf posing for photo’s as if they had just returned from a deep sea fishing expedition proudly [...]

Deangelo Hall selected to the Pro Bowl

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

DeAngelo Hall’s six interceptions and two game winning touchdowns gave him enough star power and recognition to seal his spot in the Pro Bowl this season.  He was the only Redskin to do so.  Do you think anyone got snubbed?  Lorenzo Alexander is the obvious possible snub on special teams, London Fletcher and Brandon Banks would have a hard time beating out Patrick Willis, Brian Urlacher, and Devin Hester. Fire Shanahan; not this one, the other one

Right now, as a Redskins fan, you are in either one of two camps.  You either like head coach Mike Shanahan, or you want him fired.  There really is no in-between right now.  And to compound things, when I say like, what I really mean is accept. With one final game against the New York Giants, the Skins are looking to (Choose which best fits your mood: [A] salvage [B] terminate [C] end with dignity, or [C] forget) a season fraught with drama and unrest.  At the epicenter of the rumblings has been Mike Shanahan more often than not, and [...]

Rex Grossman is still not the answer to the Redskins perennial quarterback problem

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

For those of you who remain on the Rex Grossman bandwagon after this week… What is wrong with you? Sexy came back down to earth with numbers that were below average at best, and while they were a bit deflated with Cooley’s first half sausage hands, and a questionable end zone interception, they’re still bad.  Consistency is king in the NFL, and if Rex Grossman is consistent at anything it is being bad and very unenjoyable to watch. A quarterback is in our future, whether we finish with a top 15 pick and end up with Ryan Mallet, Scam Newton, [...]
