Stefon Diggs is still working before landing another NFL opportunity. The veteran wide receiver has declared his desire to speak with the Washington Commanders about a potential homecoming, but these pleas have not provoked general manager Adam Peters into action yet.
However, that has not stopped some Commanders players from making their intentions known.
After Diggs posted another workout video on social media, edge rusher K'Lavon Chaisson became the latest to outline his seal of approval if the wideout joined Washington. This also received a positive response from the four-time Pro Bowler, which isn't exactly a shock.
K'Lavon Chaisson becomes the latest to try and get Stefon Diggs to the Commanders
Diggs and Chaisson were teammates on the New England Patriots last season. They both played significant roles in their rise from also-rans to AFC champions before eventually falling short in the Super Bowl. The Commanders quickly snapped up the pass-rusher in free agency, believing he can make a big difference to an underperforming unit. Just what Peters makes of the wideout is another matter.

The former Maryland standout is still playing well, despite being in the twilight of his prolific career. Diggs doesn't believe there is a No. 2 receiver better than him anywhere in the league. That's debatable, but there is no doubt he'd be an upgrade to the Commanders as they look to bounce back in 2026.
There are concerns. Diggs still has one legal issue pending, which is enough to approach him with caution. When this will be resolved is debatable, but he may have to wait until then to get another opportunity elsewhere.
The Commanders value character highly. It's why rumors about San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk joining the ranks are diminishing with every Instagram outburst, and it might also be why Peters has not approached Diggs yet.
Obviously, nobody knows for sure. But Chaisson is not the only player who's cast alluring glances in Diggs' direction throughout the offseason.
A situation could also arise in which Peters does nothing. There is confidence in the young receivers behind Terry McLaurin in the building. Most of them are unknown quantities or reclamation projects, but the new scheme being implemented by David Blough should play to their strengths.
If Peters, Blough, and head coach Dan Quinn aren't entirely satisfied, that's when additional reinforcements will be sought.
Diggs would be high on the list, and unlike Aiyuk, he is available right now. If the Commanders are convinced he'll focus on football and won't become a locker-room distraction, it might be worth taking the plunge if the money works for all parties.
And if the Commanders eventually land on Diggs as a viable option who can provide short-term relief, there will be nobody happier than Chaisson.
