Brandon Aiyuk has been talking a lot lately, none of which is to his benefit.
Now, it seems like he may have finally talked his way out of ever joining the Washington Commanders.
Aiyuk took to Instagram once again on Independence Day. This time, it was to start a supposed beef with the one man who could have given him an avenue into Washington.
The wide receiver had some things to say about quarterback Jayden Daniels, his college teammate at Arizona State. Just how much of this was real or satire remains to be seen, but the signal-caller dropped a not-so-subtle hint in his story that he may not approve the wideout's desired switch to Washington.
Well this probably puts a quick end to any more speculation about Brandon Aiyuk and the Commanders. pic.twitter.com/tZ2KHwkob8

Brandon Aiyuk may have burned his final bridge with the Commanders
You can draw your own conclusions. But anyone who thought his move to Washington was a done deal when Aiyuk is eventually released by the San Francisco 49ers might want to rethink things.
Aiyuk included.
This all stemmed from a Niners fan screaming obscenities towards Daniels around Aiyuk during a World Cup game. The LSU product laughed it off, but Aiyuk took it upon himself to make something out of nothing. He even mentioned the player's mother, which isn't the best way to win favor.
It's really hard to gauge this situation right now. Aiyuk could have stayed quiet and let things play out. Instead, he went on a verbal tirade against the Niners while also putting his close friend in the crosshairs. And in all honesty, that might be his final mistake.
Daniels has rightfully distanced himself. The Commanders' reported interest hasn't been confirmed by anyone in the building, which is the correct call. Watching him self-destruct through nothing more than social media posts is a damning indictment of his overall approach to the saga. And blaming everyone but himself will have a ripple effect that goes way beyond his current predicament.
Perhaps this was all just an act. Or perhaps it's the final nail in Aiyuk's quest to be in a Commanders uniform this season.
The truth probably lies somewhere in between. But with so much on the line for Washington in 2026, general manager Adam Peters needs to tread extremely carefully. If Daniels wasn't friends with him, the links wouldn't be as strong. And if their latest social media exchange has any substance, the Commanders won't take the risk.
It's that simple. And if the Commanders do end up going down this route, Aiyuk will have absolutely nobody to blame but himself.
Just a sad scene all around.
