Stefon Diggs couldn't be accused of lacking confidence. The wide receiver got his homecoming move to the Washington Commanders, and it seems as if he already knows what this will mean for the offense under new coordinator David Blough.
During his eagerly anticipated media availability after his first practice, Diggs spoke about his gratitude for landing in Washington. He outlined precisely what he plans to bring to the table. He also knows his presence will make it incredibly difficult for any defense to double-team the firepower at Washington's disposal.
And if the Commanders stay healthy, he might be right.

Stefon Diggs brings another fear factor to Commanders' offense under David Blough
The Commanders needed a prolific veteran presence to go alongside Terry McLaurin. In Diggs, they now have it, providing quarterback Jayden Daniels with a legitimate 1-2 punch that can make things happen in the biggest moments.
Diggs' presence should also open things up for the young breakout stars looking for more targets in 2026. Treylon Burks, Luke McCaffrey, and third-round rookie Antonio Williams should be the primary beneficiaries, though this dynamic behind the top two pass-catchers is still working itself out.
If that's not enough, opposing defenses also have tight end Chig Okonkwo to contend with. He's a dynamic threat with explosive route running and impressive after-the-catch capabilities for a man his size. Having Diggs and McLaurin drawing attention will free up space, and a breakout campaign could be in the free-agent signing's future.
These weapons in the passing game will also make things a lot easier for Washington's rushing attack. Teams will be wary about overcommitting against the run, knowing a play-action is all it'll take for Daniels to get the ball downfield. That would have been easier with just McLaurin to worry about, but this is not the case anymore.
Diggs might be at the tail end of his career. But for this season, he might just be the missing piece of the puzzle.

He knows how to get open. He catches almost everything that comes his way. His flair for the big occasion is renowned. And despite his previous diva-like antics, he is now a willing leader, happy to help the next generation.
Simply put, this could be a game-changer.
Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that the reports around Diggs' character were enough to take the plunge. It'll be a ramp-up period in the coming days, but he already looks sharp and comfortable after putting in the hard work over the offseason. And if there are no setbacks, this marquee addition fans were clamoring for will have some substance attached.
The Commanders are being largely overlooked, but the improvements made across the roster are glaring.
Everything still has to come together when it counts. Even so, if the offensive players meet their marks and the new-look defense makes the desired improvements, they could be a big surprise.
And as Diggs said, covering everyone effectively will now be a tall order with him around.
