Stefon Diggs could be a game-changing addition for the Washington Commanders. The veteran wide receiver is confident he can make a considerable impact, which primarily centers on making life easier for third-year quarterback Jayden Daniels.
And even though this budding relationship is still in its infancy, it hasn't taken Diggs long to win over Washington's franchise player.
During an interview with Mike Garafolo and Brian Baldinger of the NFL Network, Daniels was gushing in his praise of Diggs after their opening two practices together. The signal-caller commented on what a route technician he was, and there already seems to be a good understanding between the pair despite their lack of time together.

And if the same trend continues into the regular season, Washington's offense under new coordinator David Blough is going to be a real problem.
"I think he does a great job of being definitive with his routes. He's friendly when he comes out of the top of his routes. Great hands. I mean, he catches everything. He's super smart. He knows coverages. He's not going to run the routes to get covered. We haven't really talked about it much, but it's just about two people being on the same page, being able to know football and read coverage. It worked out that way."

The timing already looks on point between Daniels and Diggs. The pair connected frequently on Day 9 of training camp, especially during the 11-on-11 portion of practice. There is a natural chemistry between the savvy pass-catcher and the dual-threat quarterback, which bodes well with a few weeks to further hone their craft before Washington's regular-season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
One of the biggest selling points behind Diggs' move to Washington was Daniels. The wideout believes he is a superstar, and his previous work with young quarterbacks is renowned. If he can have anything like the same success with the former LSU phenom, the Commanders are going to be in tremendous shape this season.
The Commanders don't need Diggs to be the alpha. They need him to provide a security blanket in the short- to intermediate-area of the field. Based on his production last season with the New England Patriots, it's something the Maryland product should be able to accomplish with minimal fuss.
Washington now has a genuine 1-2 punch at receiver with Diggs and Terry McLaurin. Staying healthy is crucial, but everything is going according to plan on that front so far.
Daniels should have no trouble getting the football where it needs to go. And now, he's got two Pro Bowl-caliber pass-catchers capable of making the big plays needed in the highest stakes.
That's a win-win for everybody.
It's hard to envisage a scenario where Daniels and Diggs don't light it up this season. And if all the other key men on Washington's offense meet their end of the bargain, this group will be tough to stop.
This already looks like a match made in heaven. And the best part? Diggs and Daniels are just getting started.
