The Redskins are inciting a classic case of deja vu.

The Washington Redskins are coming off a brutal loss. That brutal loss came after a dominant victory. One week after Washington self-proclaimed themselves the early-season champions of the NFC East, they got demolished by a humbling New Orleans Saints squad.

Now, it’s Week 6, and in a drunken stumble, Washington must find a way to land on the right foot, and stay upright. It’s a familiar folly.

It certainly won’t be easy for them this time around. The Carolina Panthers join the Saints as one of the toughest teams in the NFC South. There’s nothing overwhelmingly superior about their offense or their defense, but the Panthers constitute a solid team all-around, with various blue-chip players such as Greg Olsen, Kawann Short, and Luke Kuechly.

Washington will be hard-pressed to stop these Panthers at home; sitting at 2-2 after their 43-19 loss to the Saints on Monday Night Football, Washington is looking for a rejuvenating win to bring optimism back to their season. They’re still at the top of what’s been an underwhelming NFC East, but early in the season, those standings can change in an instant.

The game starts later today at 1:00 eastern standard time. If you live in the local region, you’ll be able to watch it on television. If not, you can use readily available streaming websites such as NFL Game Pass and FuboTV. Before you watch, however, don’t forget to take a look at our pregame links, listed below!

This is a big game for the burgundy and gold, and one that could ultimately nudge fate forward or backward. Jay Gruden’s seat grows hotter with every embarrassing outing, and if he can’t get his team to rally at home against a tough, but beatable opponent, then he will be deserving of the scrutiny he receives.
