I could just list the whole Redskins team as a dud, and move on, but this way is much more fun.

Is ‘fun’ the right word?

The Washington Redskins came to New Orleans coming off a bye week. They had that time to prepare for the coming test, and to get ready, both mentally and physically.

The Redskins had the time to ready themselves, and they had countless opportunities to get back into the game when the Saints went up early. But they kept shooting themselves in the foot. And the Saints won 43-19.

I’m not going to sugarcoat this loss with an elaborate introduction. It was bad. But what was the root cause of this national embarrassment? The answer is just as wide-ranging as you might think.
