While Redskins players have come and gone over the years, there’s one thing that’s remained constant for this team.

You never truly know what to expect from the Washington Redskins.

One quarter of the season is completed, and while the Redskins sit atop the NFC East standings for now, one can’t help but feel a sense of uncertainty. It’s a familiar feeling for those in the nation’s capital. The storyline of chaos writes itself. Win, loss. Win, loss.

Jay Gruden had a chance to develop on Monday night, and he failed to do so. For now, the odds of a new coach heading the Redskins in 2019 will go up ever so slightly. But Gruden’s job this season isn’t done yet. There are still twelve games left to go. He’s not getting canned early; that wouldn’t even benefit the team. So let’s see how he progresses.

Next week, the Redskins will be tasked with taking on the close runner-ups in the NFC South to the Saints: The Carolina Panthers. Washington will need to put out a product that doesn’t come close to resembling their meltdown in New Orleans. How can they put the 43-19 loss behind them? By following our Ingredients for Improvement.
