The Redskins close out their 2018 season later today.

It’s been a season of misleading ups and unrelenting downs, and after fifteen games, the Washington Redskins sit at 7-8. Now officially out of the NFL playoff race, Washington is playing for nothing but extra experience. Their opponents in Week 17, however, have everything to play for.

The Eagles are coming to FedEx Field with a playoff bid on the line, and to earn a wild card spot in the postseason, Nick Foles and Doug Pederson need to complete a sweep of the burgundy and gold. They’ll do so in enemy territory, but it might feel just like a home game.

Washington’s fans are as fed up as they’ve ever been with Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen. After last week’s firing of Brian Lafemina, the sorry state of the franchise has taken center stage. Early reports from D.C. Sports reporter Craig Hoffman suggest that fan turnout in Week 17 will be minimal, at the very least, and that a sea of green may overwhelm Washington’s home stadium.

While Dan Snyder may be preoccupied by his seceding fan base, Washington’s players can’t pay attention to the noise, or lack thereof. Reserve players will be putting in their bids for increased playing time, and knocking Philadelphia out of the playoffs is an ending to a disappointing season that some might be striving for.

Whatever the case, the Redskins’ season isn’t over quite yet; they’ll face off against the Eagles at 4:25 later today. To watch, you can either check in on national television, or stream it from your mobile device, via FuboTV or NFL Game Pass.
