Redskins vs. Eagles, part one: Storylines, how to watch, and more
By Ian Cummings
The Redskins season is far from over. But with a loss tonight, it very well could be.
A note of comfort, for much of the season, has been that the Washington Redskins have, more often than not, been in control of their own destiny. By starting with a record of 5-2, they managed to forge a two-game gap between them and the next best NFC East. And with only nine games to go, with a favorable schedule on deck, Washington’s fortunes seemed to be turning for the best.
But things change quickly in the NFL.
Now, the Redskins are 6-5, after dropping three of their last four games. Their momentum has gradually slipped as their old-school philosophy has crumbled, and with just five games left, Washington only has room for another loss or two.
A loss tonight would not be the end of the season, from an official standpoint, but it would reduce the Redskins’ margin for error to absolute zero. Their hopes of a division championship would be put in jeopardy, and their hopes of a wild card berth put in the spotlight.
Of course, if the Redskins take care of business, and win, not just against the Eagles, but against the odds, then they won’t have to worry about a thing for another week. Most of you should be able to watch the game on live television, but if you can’t, don’t fret; there are live streaming options online, such as FuboTV and NFL Game Pass. Before you watch, however, be sure you know all the details about the game. That is the only way to accurately recognize the implications.
