Redskins vs. Vikings: Game Preview, how to watch, and more
By Ian Cummings
The Redskins schedule will get easier. But not today. The Vikings, 6-2, travel to Ashburn to take on the burgundy and gold at 1:00 PM EST. They’ll be looking to drop the Redskins below .500 again.
On paper, the Redskins seem outmatched simply by all the weapons on the Vikings’ defense, but if there’s anything we’ve learned in recent weeks, it’s that this team’s will to win is a powerful thing. Sunday’s game isn’t a must-win situation, however, and that lack of desperation may be the defining flaw in their efforts.
If the Redskins win, they’ll move up to 5-4, and they’ll suddenly be in the thick of the playoff race. With just two visibly tough games remaining after this game, they could lose one of those two and still find a way to be 11-5. If they lose, however, they’ll fall to 4-5, and any loss from this point out could mean the end of their playoff hopes.
The players themselves will tell you they can win. And they’ll tell you they will win. But the outcome of the game is not entirely up to them. Luckily, Kirk Cousins and Co. are focused on the process more-so than the result, and they’re faithful that if they do a good job of undergoing the process, then a win would, in fact, be a likely result.
This Vikings’ defense, however, is known for disrupting the process. With playmakers on every level of the defense, their unit is arguably better than the Seahawks, and with most of their team healthy, they’ll give quite a challenge to the Redskins, who are still riddled with injuries.
Just like last week, the dynamic duo Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis will be calling the game on Fox Sports. It’ll be broadcast for much of the D.C. area, as well as Minnesota and much of the western United States. If you don’t live in one of those areas, like me, then you can easily watch the game live on FuboTV or NFL Game Pass. But before you do any watching, you should do some reading first! Below, we have all the pre-game coverage assorted for you to know all you need to know about this important game.
