Both writers picked the Redskins to lose last week, as did countless other fans. The Redskins surprised a lot of people, and although the picks were essentially the same, Matt won with a closer total score. Through the first half of the season, Matt leads by a score of 5-3. Here are their predictions for Week 10!

After a huge win in Seattle, my faith in the Redskins has never been so high. It’s not just the win that has lifted my spirit, but the heart that this team continues to show game in and game out, despite the injuries that have shaken the roster down to its core.

The Redskins are 4-4 thus far and have played the hardest schedule of any team in the NFL. They are hungry for the postseason, and their run starts here. The Vikings are a solid team, led by great defensive play and an above average receiving corps. However, they are a team that seems vastly overrated.

They have a great defense, but have no wins over playoff competitive teams except for their week one victory over the Saints, who were not the same team that they are now. In fact, the only teams they have faced with an above average offense are the Steelers and Lions, both of whom beat the Vikings. I’m not saying the Vikings are a bad team, but they certainly aren’t on the level people are giving them credit for, and with an offense led by Case Keenum, they’re not a true threat.

The Redskins will have their work cut out for them. I do believe that the Vikings have the best defensive line in the NFL, and they also sport a true No. 1 cornerback in Xavier Rhodes, and Harrison Smith, who is a top five safety. The Vikings have great pieces on defense, but you can only get so far without scoring.

The offensive line the Redskins went into Seattle with may be better than what the Vikings have now. Minnesota does have a solid rushing attack, but it’s not what it was with Dalvin Cook, and their passing attack is boosted by a solid group of receivers, but they’ve yet to beat a team that has the same cornerback talent the Redskins have.

If the Redskins go into the game healthy, I have no doubt they’ll pull out a win, as they’re simply the better team on offense. The Vikings defense is very good, but the Redskins also boast a solid defensive unit. The difference is the Redskins offense is just a better unit than the Vikings. I think the defense will have an excellent game, coming away with 7+ sacks, and 2 or more interceptions. The Redskins will win this game 26-20. If that score sounds familiar, go check out how the game went between these two teams last season. Deja vu, right?
