Commanders QBs (3)

  • Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, Athan Kaliakmanis

Jayden Daniels is healthy and ready to remind the world why he surged into the elite quarterback category as a rookie. It was a dismal campaign on the health front last time around, raising new doubts. But make no mistake; there is a different look in his eyes this time around.

The Washington Commanders were not going to leave anything to chance. Veteran understudy Marcus Mariota is back and can perform well when called upon. General manager Adam Peters also spent a seventh-round pick on Athan Kaliakmanis, who should comfortably beat out Sam Hartman for the QB3 role.

Commanders RBs (4)

  • Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Rachaad White, Kaytron Allen, Jerome Ford

The running back dynamic is fascinating. Washington has strength in depth, outlining a potential committee approach under new coordinator David Blough. It's a genuine competition for starting reps, and several have already staked strong claims over OTAs.

Rachaad White looked sensational and should play a major role. Jerome Ford has also caught the eye and could sneak his way onto the roster if the same trend continues. Sixth-round rookie Kaytron Allen brings something different, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt also had a chance of featuring prominently after his first-year surge.

Jeremy McNichols might be preferred, but he seems behind others right now.

Commanders WRs (6)

  • Terry McLaurin, Antonio Williams, Dyami Brown, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane, Treylon Burks

There is speculation around another potential arrival to the wide receiver room at some stage. Brandon Aiyuk is clearly desperate to reunite with Jayden Daniels, but Adam Peters is willing to play the waiting game until he's released by the San Francisco 49ers.

Confidence is higher in the building than among fans around the wideout dynamic. Terry McLaurin leads the charge, and third-round pick Antonio Williams continues to stand out. The likes of Treylon Burks, Luke McCaffrey, Dyami Brown, and Jaylin Lane have also flashed in new schematic concepts, so this might not be the concern some in the media are suggesting.

Commanders TEs (3)

  • Chig Okonkwo, John Bates, Ben Sinnott

The Commanders could feature tight ends more frequently under David Blough's new system. Analysts expect more 13-personnel formations, so they might take more than three onto their roster. However, they can just as easily call up another from the practice squad when the situation dictates.

Chig Okonkwo is the new top dog after signing in free agency, and he's made a huge impact over OTAs. John Bates is an exceptional in-line blocker who can also help the passing attack when opportunities arise. Ben Sinnott remains the wild card, but the Commanders aren't giving up on him just yet.

Commanders OL (9)

  • Laremy Tunsil, Chris Paul, Nick Allegretti, Sam Cosmi, Josh Conerly Jr., Brandon Coleman, Andrew Wylie, Matt Gulbin, Trent Scott

The Commanders have a bookend tackle tandem in Laremy Tunsil and Josh Conerly Jr. They have one of the league's most consistent right guards in Sam Cosmi. There are questions about the other two starting positions, which must be addressed before Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nick Allegretti will start at center, but the Commanders covered their bases by drafting Matt Gulbin. Brandon Coleman and Chris Paul will battle it out for the left guard role, and it could go either way after OTAs. Andrew Wylie and Trent Scott are solid, versatile backups, which might suffice for now.
