The Washington Commanders have not shown their hand with Stefon Diggs as yet. While the wide receiver has made no secret of his intrigue about joining head coach Dan Quinn's squad, general manager Adam Peters isn't exactly known for giving away his plans.

Now that Diggs' legal issues are over, it may not be much longer before interested parties make their moves. One ESPN analyst believes there is a team that stands out as the perfect landing spot for the Pro Bowler, and it's not Washington.

Diggs is clearly willing to explore a potential homecoming at this stage of his career. He would probably like his brother, cornerback Trevon Diggs, to join him, but the Commanders have not bitten just yet. They still might, but Peters could also be content with what he has.

Commanders may have to show their hand soon with Stefon Diggs

He'd better be quick. Teams around the league will view Diggs very differently now that his off-field issues have been resolved. And for Matt Bowen of ESPN, the Los Angeles Rams represent another intriguing destination for the Maryland product as they look to reach the Super Bowl in 2026.

"The Rams attempted 430 passes out of 11 personnel (three wide receivers) last season, which was ninth most in the league, and Diggs is a natural separator who can line up inside or outside. Plus, he has the toughness to work the middle of the field on in-breaking concepts, a key element of coach Sean McVay's offense. He would provide an easy boost to the Rams WR room for quarterback Matthew Stafford."

Diggs is at the tail-end of his career. He remains productive, but there is obvious baggage attached. And though his preference may be to play closer to home, there is no telling if the Commanders will be as receptive to the possibility.

The Commanders are reportedly looking for help at receiver. Speculation remains that Brandon Aiyuk will join the squad at some stage, but considering he is still under contract with the San Francisco 49ers, it's anyone's guess as to when that will be. Diggs is arguably the best available option right now, and Washington has enough cap space to make him an enticing offer if they see him as a good fit.

Getting the chance to chase a ring in Los Angeles within Sean McVay's offense and with NFL MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford under center would be difficult to turn down. They might not be interested, but putting him next to Davante Adams and Puka Nacua represents a formidable trio.

It'll be interesting to see what becomes final. But if the Commanders are keen on Diggs, which is no guarantee, they might want to move quickly to avoid any unnecessary complications.
