Washington Commanders at Cardinals early odds and prediction for Week 4
By Dean Jones
The Washington Commanders have plenty of momentum on their side heading into Week 4. Their incredible victory at the Cincinnati Bengals caught the national attention on Monday Night Football and proved this franchise is not the same laughingstock of old. There are still problems that could jeopardize their chances of progress as the campaign goes on, but things are looking up at long last.
Next up for the Commanders is a trip to the Arizona Cardinals. Dan Quinn opted to take his side to the region immediately after their contest against the Bengals to acclimatize and fully focus on this tricky test. Jonathan Gannon's men might be sitting at 1-2, but they are a dangerous outfit once they get into an early rhythm. That is something Washington is looking to avoid in pursuit of securing a third victory in four games to start the campaign.
It'll be interesting to see what adjustments are made by the coaching staff. Washington's offense looked relentless at the Bengals. They didn't punt for a second straight week and quarterback Jayden Daniels turned in a primetime debut for the ages. Things were less encouraging on defense, so a big effort is needed versus Arizona's high-octane offense that now includes rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Commanders at Cardinals prediction for Week 4
The Commanders are not a complete football operation just yet. It's pretty one-sided with the offense thriving and the defense lagging. But make no mistake, they have absolutely nothing to fear during this weekend's trip to State Farm Stadium.
Keeping star quarterback Kyler Murray contained is the critical element to this equation. The former No. 1 overall selection can hurt any defense with his arm if given enough time in the pocket. Once he goes off-script, the Oklahoma product is a threat to carve open the Commanders on the ground if they aren't ready.
Nobody will know more about Murray than Kliff Kingsbury. He'll be focused on making sure the offense is up to the required standard, but his input on how best to counteract the supreme skill set his old quarterback possesses will be an important piece of the puzzle.
- Prediction: Commanders win
If Washington can somehow pick up its third successive triumph, it's another sign that something special is brewing. This might have to be another shootout considering the defensive frailties, but Daniels and company proved capable of going toe-to-toe with anyone last time around. Hopefully, that can continue this weekend.
