Brian Davis suing over Commanders sale snub
As the Josh Harris group moves forward with buying the Washington Commanders - which could receive formal NFL approval in the summer - one potential bidder has not taken missing out all that well. There was some extreme contention about Brian Davis' reported $7.1 billion offer, which never really got going despite a tireless media crusade from the former Duke basketball star.
According to multiple sources, Davis has filed a lawsuit against Bank of America - the company hired to handle the sale. Seeking $500 billion in damages, the issue stems from allegedly not making Dan Snyder aware of $5.1 billion allegedly transferred to Urban Echo Energy and BoA as part of their bid.
Davis' attorney Jeffrey T. Martin stated via Yardbarker that this "wrongful detention of property" and not informing the Snyders of such a large financial commitment are the primary reasons for the lawsuit.
"Upon information and belief, BOA never made the Snyders aware of the existence of the bank drafts. As a result of BOA’s wrongful detention of Urban Echo’s property, Urban Echo has suffered damages, consisting of the return of Plaintiff’s $5,100,000,000.00 and additional damages in an amount to be proven at trial."

This is inconsequential for Commanders fans, who are looking forward to an exciting new era under Harris' ownership group. Most never took Davis' outlandish claims seriously and the $500 billion sought in damages appears to be an absolute pipedream, too.
