Commanders News: Sam Howell, Sale lawsuit, K.J. Henry and Doug Quon

Commanders have hope with Sam Howell
Sam Howell must have been waiting nervously to see if the Washington Commanders would go through on their promise this offseason. However, head coach Ron Rivera is not known for deviating from his plans, so the former fifth-round selection now has the keys to the kingdom in 2023 provided he beats out Jacoby Brissett as expected.
This is a significant opportunity for Howell. One that could also benefit the Commanders given how cheap the player's contract is over the next three years.
When speaking to reporters via The Bleacher Report, it's clear that Howell is grateful to have so much faith placed in his ability. But make no mistake, the one-time North Carolina stud is taking absolutely nothing for granted.
"But the work starts now. I got to take advantage of the opportunity I do have and do everything to try and give this team a chance to win every time single game that we play."

Nothing will be given to Howell and the presence of Brissett should ensure complacency doesn't become an issue. There is a lot riding on his ability to provide more consistent production under center - something that's well within his capabilities with an offensive guru such as Eric Bieniemy steering him on the right path.
