Bold predictions for every Commanders draft pick in 2023

Chris Rodriguez Jr. - Commanders RB
- Develops into pass-catching RB under Eric Bieniemy
While the selection of Chris Rodriguez Jr. was a luxury one in the sixth round, Eric Bieniemy clearly feels like he can mold the running back into a valuable contributor. Something that would further bolster a room that includes Brian Robinson Jr. and Antonio Gibson.
Perhaps the most notable element of Rodriguez Jr.'s production at Kentucky was his impressive contact balance and ability to gain the hard yards. However, Ron Rivera recently stated that Bieniemy plans to develop the rookie into a pass-catching threat during his initial transition.
If the respected offensive mind can accomplish this and Rodriguez progresses quicker than anticipated, becoming the team's third-down option in addition to spelling the aforementioned duo on occasion would be nothing short of outstanding.
K.J. Henry - Commanders DE/OLB
- Starting OLB by Week 5
When the Commanders traded up for another edge rusher, it came with some surprise considering the options already available. But that does not detract from what an impressive set of skills K.J. Henry offers if everything goes according to plan this summer.
Henry was a rotational piece throughout his time at Clemson, but there is enough in his athletic profile to suggest a starting outside linebacker role could be in his immediate future. Something the Commanders need to go along with Jamin Davis and Cody Barton at the second level.
It might not happen right away, but if Henry can become the team's starting outside linebacker by Week 5, it's a major win for the player and the organization.
