Commanders could lose Eric Bieniemy to the Browns

Another head coach who finds himself in a precarious situation heading into the 2023 campaign is Kevin Stefanski. The Cleveland Browns underachieved significantly last season, so much more is expected with quarterback Deshaun Watson eligible to start immediately.

Watson missed a large chunk of the previous campaign through a thoroughly-deserved suspension. When he came into the lineup for Jacoby Brissett - who joined the Washington Commanders in free agency - the team regressed and concluded with a lowly 7-10 record as a result of their efforts.

If Stefanski cannot get a tune out of this Browns' squad now their franchise player is back from Week 1, then one would anticipate the higher-ups making a landmark change to the team's coaching infrastructure. And again, there's just no telling what Watson might be capable of under Eric Bieniemy's guidance.

Bieniemy's been around winning franchises and knows how to get the best out of the quarterbacks under his tutelage. Something the Commanders are banking on in 2023 as Sam Howell looks to cement his status as the team's starting signal-caller.

Cleveland hasn't had a great deal to shout about in recent seasons and the AFC North is getting any easier. If Stefanski cannot get the job done, then Bieniemy has the credentials and leadership capable of igniting the Browns to greater things if they go in a different direction.
