Chase Roullier could join Cardinals after Commanders release

Another team that could see Chase Roullier as an asset worth signing is the Arizona Cardinals. The team is in something of a flux until quarterback Kyler Murray returns from injury, but there is a gaping hole at the center position that needs to be filled after Rodney Hudson was released before confirming his intent to retire.

Hudson's been a solid contributor for a number of years and was also a prominent leader within the locker room. There isn't much on the depth chart to provide confidence currently, which makes Roullier an intriguing option after the Washington Commanders opted to move on from the former Wyoming star.

This would certainly plug the hole left by Hudson. While there are obvious risks involved given Roullier's health trajectory in recent seasons, one thing that cannot be disputed is the supreme efficiency with which he goes about his business on the field.

Roullier is still getting paid handsomely by the Commanders this season. Therefore, another potential suitor might be able to strike a team-friendly deal with the promise of more to come if he puts a consistent run of games together.

Whether Roullier wants to land on a team with better chances of contending next season is anyone's guess. But this looks like a great match and an opportunity to instantly become a starter once again.
