If Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn is feeling the heat regarding his job security entering the 2026 campaign, he isn't showing it.
In fact, the rumors and raised pressure are only making him more determined to succeed.
During a conversation with ESPN insider John Keim, there was clear resolve in Quinn, along with real conviction in the way he has approached the entire offseason. He believes in these methods, and the pressure to bounce back is not deviating the respected leader from his chosen path.

If it doesn't work out, so be it. But for now, Quinn knows that he is doing the absolute best he can to put everyone in the best possible positions to succeed.
"I've been doing it a long time, so I have a lot of confidence in what we're doing and how we're doing it. You were asking about the pressure earlier. I do love it. I don't think of it any different when we're hitting all the marks and I don't think of it any different when we're not.
"I just want to do a really good job for the coaches. I want to do a really good job for the players, and if I do that, man, I can put my head on the pillow knowing that like, man, I had really high standards."
It's a results business. Quinn knows what comes next if Washington's record doesn't improve this season. But worrying about what might happen takes the focus off the immediate task at hand.
Quinn's resolve is strong. It's why he didn't lose the locker room last season when the Commanders fell off a cliff. It's also why the players have responded positively to the raised tempo this offseason, which is always the best way to avoid complacency.
There is a new hunger around the Commanders now.
Everyone was deeply hurt by their five-win record last time around; nobody more so than Quinn. It left a bitter taste in the mouth, and even though injuries didn't help, the former Atlanta Falcons head coach was not looking for excuses.

This is all about what comes next.
Turning the page, learning some harsh lessons, and fighting back in the face of adversity are crucial. Everyone still believes Quinn is the right man to take this franchise forward, and the mood in the building doesn't reflect any talk of him being on the hot seat.
Quinn recognized the need for change this offseason. General manager Adam Peters gave the roster a major overhaul, but replacing his offensive and defensive coordinators was a bold call. It removed any more scapegoats, and placing his faith in two rookie NFL play-callers just typified his desire to think a little outside the box in pursuit of progression.
It could still go either way, but the atmosphere across the Commanders is night and day compared to last summer.
Defiance was replaced by complacency. Aggression was replaced by going through the motions. Urgency was replaced by everyone getting a little bit ahead of themselves after Washington's surprising surge to the NFC Championship game.
It was unacceptable, and the results spoke for themselves.
The Commanders now have their swagger back.
Losing left tackle Laremy Tunsil is a blow, but it's next man up. Quinn is demanding more from his players, and they are delivering the goods. But with Washington facing a brutal opening to their season before the bye week, nothing but hitting the ground running will do.
Instead of shying away from the pressure, Quinn is embracing it. He's trying to harness it into something positive, and the Commanders are still more than willing to follow his lead.
Let's hope it bears fruit when the regular season commences.
