The Washington Commanders have had a relatively easy summer when it comes to injuries. However, fans are holding their breath after two important figures left their latest training camp practice early.
Five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil was the first, feeling something after a rep against big-money edge rusher Odafe Oweh. After going to the medical tent, the elite blindside presence went into the building for further tests. But that wasn't all.
Promising cornerback Trey Amos, who was participating in only his second training camp practice after a long absence, also reportedly left practice eaerly wth an undisclosed issue. The Commanders might just be taking every possible precaution with the defensive back, but it'll be an anxious wait for fans before something gets confirmed one way or another.
Commanders will be hoping for good news with Laremy Tunsil and Trey Amos
Both Tunsil and Amos will be key to Washington's bounce-back chances. Obviously, it's a guessing game until the Commanders reveal the prognosis, but everyone will be praying it's not too serious.

Tunsil is among the league's most accomplished edge protectors. He was an exceptional addition to the team last season, playing at an All-Pro level following his blockbuster trade to Washington. More dominance is expected this time around, so this will hopefully be nothing more than a stinger.
As for Amos? He is due a little bit of luck.
The former Ole Miss standout flashed some encouraging signs as a rookie before his campaign was cruelly cut short. Amos finally passed his physical before Friday's practice, but the 2025 second-round pick didn't even make it through his second session before needing medical attention.

Amos is expected to occupy one of the starting boundary corner positions once again this season. He's already missed a lot of time, so any more enforced absences will only dent his hopes of hitting the ground running.
The Commanders cannot afford any more setbacks with the second-year pro. It's that simple.
These sorts of instances are commonplace at training camps around the league at this time of year. The Commanders were bitten heavily by the injury bug last season, but this dark cloud seemed to be lifting.
Tunsil and Amos have provided the first legitimate scare of note. But time is on Washington's side for now.
We still have a little over one month before the Commanders take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. If Tunsil or Amos has to miss a practice or two now, it's no big deal. But if it's anything more, Washington has a big problem on its hands.
Let's hope for positive developments sooner rather than later.
