Antonio Williams - Commanders WR
All the hype now centers on veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs after his dream homecoming was finally confirmed. However, Washington Commanders fans should not sleep on rookie third-round pick Antonio Williams.
Williams is putting together a strong summer. The No. 71 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft looks sharp, explosive, and knows where to be. He just gets it, and it already looks like the Commanders may have stumbled upon something special late on Day 2.
He didn't get many targets, but Williams was rock solid nonetheless.
The former Clemson playmaker is twitchy. Williams cuts sharply out of his routes and is an assured presence when targets come his way. With Diggs now joining Terry McLaurin to draw attention, there should also be a lot of space for the first-year pro to work.
It's early days, of course. The Commanders should get Williams some work in the preseason to give him a broader indication of what to expect from a typical game-day environment in the NFL. But given how he's standing out so far, it's a test he is sure to pass with flying colors.
If Williams can hold his own and maximize the touches that come his way under new offensive coordinator David Blough, the Commanders will have a potentially prolific wide receiver trio on their hands.
K'Lavon Chaisson - Commanders OLB
Another newcomer is wasting no time in making his presence felt. Even with Dorance Armstrong Jr. now back at practice following a lengthy absence, free-agent signing K'Lavon Chaisson promises to be a key factor in any defensive success the Commanders have this season.
Chaisson has momentum after a rocky start to his career, and he's eager to build on it. This confidence to bet on himself with a one-year deal in Washington is oozing out of him this summer. And much like Odafe Oweh on the other side, the edge rusher's speed off the snap is a sight to behold.

Day 9 of training camp was another step in the right direction for Chaisson. He was causing endless problems for the offensive linemen. His speed-to-power moves seem to be improving, and the 2020 first-round pick out of LSU is in a position to finish plays. If he takes this through into the regular season, another superb campaign won't be too far behind.
One could have been forgiven for writing Chaisson off when he was cut without playing a competitive snap for the Carolina Panthers. It's been a steady climb since, and a genuine breakout with the New England Patriots last season was enough for the Commanders to take a swing.
And it already looks like it could be a shrewd investment.
