Winner No. 2
Jaden Bradley - Commanders WR
The Washington Commanders have some difficult decisions to make at wide receiver in the coming days. There are only so many spots to go around, and this clear surplus may even be an opportunity for Adam Peters to explore potential trades.
Those are scenarios for another day. But for undrafted rookie Jaden Bradley, his exceptional showcase of athletic prowess against the Detroit Lions might just be enough to change the conversation.
Bradley's put together an outstanding offseason. His size and length are matched by physicality and outstanding body control. These traits came across when he produced a jaw-dropping catch off an Athan Kaliakmanis throw despite being held on the play.
This doesn't change much in the grand scheme of things. Still, it showed Bradley can get it done in a typical game-day setting.
The wideout might not do enough to make the 53-man roster, but another strong game could see interest from elsewhere arrive on the waiver wire.
Loser No. 2
Julian Good-Jones - Commanders OL
The Commanders' starting offense, or at least those who were healthy, took to the field for one series against the Lions. There was a sense of anticipation about what this group could accomplish, but it quickly became an unfortunate dud.
Jayden Daniels was on the field for three plays. He was sacked, pressured, and threw an incompletion. The protection in front of him didn't give the signal-caller any chance to make plays or even get off his first read, and Dan Quinn didn't put him in harm's way any more.
While it's only one series, and there's not much time to assess, it's also clear that Julian Good-Jones has no place on an NFL field in Washington.
Good-Jones was the man tasked with filling the void left by Nick Allegretti, who is still working his way back from a calf strain. Washington also has sixth-round rookie Matt Gulbin, but they continue to rely on veteran experience to the team's detriment.
Adam Peters needs outside help to solve Washington's center depth. Anything less is organizational malpractice.
Winner No. 3
Ale Kaho - Commanders LB
There is an interesting dilemma brewing at linebacker. Frankie Luvu, free-agent signing Leo Chenal, and No. 7 pick Sonny Styles are the top three options and will play key roles for new coordinator Daronte Jones this season. That leaves a couple of spots for the rest, and the competition for supremacy is becoming more intense.
Several players will fancy their chances. Ale Kaho might have been a relative afterthought, at least from the outside looking in, this summer. However, the 2025 undrafted free agent out of UCLA is coming alive at the right time.
Kaho was all over the field in Detroit. His anticipation and explosiveness in reaching the point of contact caught the eye throughout, and he was even able to get into the backfield when opportunities to generate pressure arose.
Couple this with Kaho's value as a special teams asset, and it wouldn't be surprising to see his name on the 53-man roster once again.
