Luke McCaffrey - Commanders WR
The wide receiver dynamic is still working itself out this summer. No move has been made for veteran free agent Stefon Diggs yet, but the Washington Commanders are reportedly in communication with the four-time Pro Bowler about a potential homecoming.
Until something gets confirmed, the wideouts behind Terry McLaurin must raise confidence in their ability to come through when it counts. And by the reports emerging from Day 6 of training camp, there could be a growing role for Luke McCaffrey.
Several beat reporters highlighted McCaffrey. Fans on social media did, too. Some even called it the best practice the former Rice star has had since joining the Commanders as a third-round pick in 2024.
McCaffrey made some exceptional catches throughout the session. He was able to generate separation consistently, and his concentration when the football is going through the air has improved.

There is a long way to go, and the preseason may tell us more. Even so, the brother of All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey is starting to build some positive momentum at the right time.
Kliff Kingsbury didn't trust McCaffrey; that much was painfully obvious. But if this trend continues, David Blough will give him a legitimate shot.
Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB
Things are now starting to click for quarterback Jayden Daniels. It was always going to take time within a new system being installed by offensive coordinator David Blough, but head coach Dan Quinn has already spoken at length about how impressive it's been to see the dynamic signal-caller pick things up so quickly.
The Commanders opened up the field in this session. It's been mostly situational, with red-zone and third-down prioritized up to this point, and Daniels took full advantage of getting more of the field to work with.
Unsurprisingly, there is a different feeling when Daniels is under center. He's in complete charge, and he's been way more accurate than the other quarterbacks. The timing seems to be on point with almost everybody, and his willingness to check down quickly when pressure arrives is another sign of his growing experience.
Daniels is starting to turn up the heat. Last season was frustrating, to put it mildly, but it's made him even more determined to succeed this time around. People have seemingly all but forgotten he put together arguably the greatest season for a rookie quarterback in NFL history. It's time to remind them.
Everything is firmly pointing up for Daniels. This practice was another step in the right direction.
