Back to .500. It’s a familiar place for the Washington Football Team, but they don’t intend to stay there for long.

Later today, at precisely 1:00 PM eastern standard time, the Washington Football Team has a chance to again rise above the .500 threshold. They’ll be met by an opponent with the same motivations, however, as the Cleveland Browns are also 1-1. Cleveland, however, is coming off a primetime win against the Bengals. Washington lost by 15 to Arizona last Sunday.

The Browns have also had a few extra days to prepare, but there’s reason to believe Washington will have a shot on Sunday, nonetheless. Cleveland’s defense is notably understaffed, and while both teams are sporting first-year head coaches in their respective spots, Ron Rivera has a good decade of experience on Browns coach Kevin Stefanski.

The Browns are a -7 favorite against the Washington Football Team, and that makes sense; Washington’s offense has been putrid through two games, and they’re missing star lineman Brandon Scherff. But Washington beat the odds once already in 2020, when they came back from 17-0 to beat the Eagles in Week 1. Can they do it again against Cleveland?

The game will be broadcast at 1:00 PM on Fox Sports, with Chris Spielman, Kevin Kugler, and Laura Okmin forming the broadcast team.
