The Washington Redskins are dealing with some key injuries ahead of their Sunday afternoon matchup with the New York Giants. Terry McLaurin is dealing with a hamstring injury, but rumor has it that he “should play.”

The Washington Redskins are already dealing with a number of key injuries on the offensive side of the ball in Week 4 of the 2019 NFL season. Another injury was hinted at earlier today, when it was reported that rookie standout wide receiver Terry McLaurin sat out of Friday practice due to a hamstring issue.

McLaurin has been one of the few bright spots on the offensive side of the ball for the Redskins, and his loss, in a week where Jay Gruden needs a win to keep his job, would be very significant. But new reports suggest that McLaurin should be ready to go on Sunday.

Per NBC Sports Mid-Atlantic’s J.P. Finlay, McLaurin will likely suit up against New York, despite worries surrounding his health. He did tweak his hamstring during the Bears game, but the injury is considered minor, and the Redskins held him out as a precautionary measure.

Taking such precautions makes sense for McLaurin, as the rookie from Ohio State has amassed very impressive numbers in the early goings of the 2019 season. Through three games, McLaurin has 16 catches for 257 yards and three touchdowns, scoring once in each contest. He’s won with a surprising degree of detail and quickness, and he’s quickly become Washington’s most dynamic offensive weapon.

With Jay Gruden coaching for his job, and with Washington desperate for a victory against a comparable division opponent, it’s important that the Redskins go to battle with as much firepower as they can muster. With McLaurin’s outlook appearing more positive as time goes on, that’s one less thing for them to worry about.
