The Washington Redskins have officially announced the dates and times for their 2019 training camp session.

We’re now just past the halfway point of the NFL offseason, but for the Washington Redskins, there’s still some waiting left to do. Minicamp and organized team activities are far away in the rear view mirror now, and the next activity on deck is training camp, which won’t occur for another month.

The Redskins recently released the official times and dates for their training camp session, which will run from late July, into early August, and to the start of NFL preseason, where the team’s rookies will get their first action under the lights.

The training camp dates were shared by many D.C. media personalities, including D.C. sports reporter Craig Hoffman. Per Hoffman’s post on Twitter, the Redskins will begin training camp on Thursday, July 25. Training camp will then span from that date to Sunday, August 11.

The Redskins have their first preseason game on August 8, against the Cleveland Browns, so from August 7 to August 9, there will be no camp sessions. Additionally, the team has two days off in the aforementioned sequence: Monday, July 29, and Friday, August 2. All training camp sessions are open to the public, with no need for payment. However, it is advised to take care in planning, as practice sessions can be abruptly cancelled or rescheduled if warranted.

The Redskins have been an enigmatic entity this offseason. Some view Washington as a potential playoff contender, while others see them in line for a top five pick next offseason. Training camp, for the fans, will be the first step at seeing what the players bring to the table, up close and personal. And for the players themselves, training camp represents the next stepping stone toward proving that they belong in the more optimistic conversation.
