The Washington Redskins have added a tight end to their roster. They signed undrafted free agent Donald Parham after he impressed as a tryout player in minicamp.

The Redskins moved on from tight end Manasseh Garner on Thursday afternoon. That created an open spot on their 90-man roster. They didn’t leave it open very long.

According to the Redskins Twitter account, the team has added another tight end to the roster. They signed undrafted free agent, Donald Parham, out of Stetson University. Parham had been trying out for the ‘Skins during minicamp, so it wasn’t surprising to see him dubbed as the roster addition, as he now gives the team six tight ends on the roster (seven if you count fullback Elijah Wellman).

After it was reported that Parham was working out with Washington, here’s what I said about his potential and upside.

More from Riggo's Rag

"Parham was considered to be a sleeper candidate at the tight end position in this year’s draft, but he ended up falling to the ranks of the undrafted. The 6-8, 240-pound Parham is coming off a massive season at Stetson that saw him post a ridiculous 85 catches for 1,319 yards and 13 touchdowns playing for the FCS school.Parham had a decent showing during the Senior Bowl and clocked a 4.67 in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day while showing well in the drills. He has a lot of upside but he’s raw, so he might have to find a spot on a practice squad. Still, he would be a great addition to the ‘Skins’ tight end room, as he would offer the elite size to potentially become a red-zone weapon."

Parham caught a touchdown during minicamp, so he must have shown exactly what he will be able to do at the next level with his massive 6-8 frame. At the very least, he has more upside than Garner, who hadn’t suited up in a game for the Redskins despite being on the 90-man roster for two seasons.

Adding Parham is a good, high upside move. He has the potential to make an impact on an NFL team and at the very least, he should challenge for a practice squad spot. It will be interesting to see what he can do when training camp rolls around.
