It isn’t the first time the Redskins will look to rebound from a bad loss in 2018, but for their sake, it needs to be the last time.

At the halfway point of the 2018 regular season, the Washington Redskins are 5-3, still at the top of the NFC East standings.

If the season ended today, Washington would be in the playoffs. But the team can’t be content with temporary success, even in the face of adversity. Jay Gruden has an opportunity today to withstand the circumstances and coach his team to a tide-changing victory. If he fails to do so, the implications could be drastic.

The last time Jay Gruden’s job was in dire question, he was able to achieve a momentum-shifting win. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 7 of the 2015 season.

It would be unwise to assume a victory today based on the parallel presented above, but the Buccaneers are beatable; their offense is electric, but if there was ever a defense against which Washington’s offense could find its footing, Tampa’s defense is that unit. This game will go a long way toward distinguishing what the potential of the 2018 Redskins is.

If you live in the local D.C. area, you can watch the game on live television, but if you’re unable to do so, you can stream it on an online site, such as NFL Game Pass or FuboTV. Before you watch, be sure to gloss over our pregame links one last time!
