Redskins vs. Ravens: Offense and defense matchups, score prediction
Redskins offense vs. Ravens defense
The Redskins offense will likely be led by Kevin Hogan for a majority of this game. Alex Smith is highly unlikely to play while Colt McCoy may not play much, or at all, as he has the primary backup spot locked up. Hogan will be looking to earn a roster spot, and he could be relieved by recently signed fourth-string quarterback Connor Jessop in the fourth quarter.
With Hogan on the field, it seems probable that he will get a chance to work with some of the Redskins young weapons. Trey Quinn, Jeremy Sprinkle, and Simmie Cobbs are a few of the names that stand out, and Cam Sims may be among those playing as well (depending on his injury status).
In addition to these players, the running game should see a heavy dose of Rob Kelley, Kapri Bibbs, and De’Veon Smith. While some have speculated that Adrian Peterson could see action this week, I still think that is unlikely. He appears to have locked down a roster spot, so there is little reason to get him access behind the backup offensive line. So, I can’t see him getting much action.

This game will probably do a lot to determine who will make the roster between Kelley and Bibbs. It may not necessarily end up being the guy who looks best in this week that makes the team, but this contest should give each player a last chance to plead his case for a spot on the 53.
Meanwhile, on the Ravens side of the ball, the team is going to let their talented, young secondary see some action. Notably, Anthony Averett and DeShon Elliott seem likely to see some time, and they will certainly provide tests to Quinn and the other receivers action in this contest. Hogan will have to place the ball well in order to have a shot at beating this unit.
In terms of overall matchups, this seems like a draw at the best. The Redskins may be a bit weaker than the Ravens on this side of the ball, so they could struggle to produce consistent drives.
