Even after just one week of preseason, much has changed, in regards to the Redskins’ roster.

As expected and feared, especially after last year, injuries took their toll on the Washington Redskins early. In the first week of preseason, the Redskins lost starting running back Derrius Guice, wide receiver Robert Davis, and tight end Manasseh Garner, all for the season with severe injuries.

There is no way to spin the injuries positively, particularly in the case of Derrius Guice. But naturally, there will be repercussions on the roster for other players, and at positions of particular congestion, such as running back and wide receiver, holes have opened up, through which under-the-radar players can find a way to sneak onto the roster.

On offense, the picture is very different without Guice and Davis, and Kevin Hogan‘s potential release factors into the equation as well. Meanwhile, on defense, cornerback is a position that has yet to be settled; even with the release of Orlando Scandrick, there is still a “Danny Johnson vs. Greg Stroman” dynamic. That position, among others, still has plenty of settling yet to play out.

Change is on the horizon, and what we predict right now is bound to be wrong, to some degree, when the final 53-man roster is compiled. But here at Riggo’s Rag, we never learn! That’s why, after the developments of the first week of preseason, we have another roster projection podcast for you, courtesy of Riggo’s Rag writer Ken Johannesen, who released his second roster projection a few days ago. Hear what he and the usual cast had to say about Washington’s roster by clicking the play button below!

Among other things, Ken Johannesen has a surprise defensive player or two making the roster, Nathan Britton uses a strange baseball analogy to describe the dynamic between Stroman and Johnson, and Jacob Camenker lets loose on the Samaje Perine perception.
