2. WR Jamison Crowder

Last week against the Cowboys, Jamison Crowder finally showed up. After starting the game with a bang on a 40 yard reception, Crowder kept picking away at the Dallas defense. He saw a season high 13 targets and nine receptions, and finished the day with 123 receiving yards. It was a strong showing, and it’s one that the Redskins need to see continue.

Kirk Cousins has gotten close to zero production out of his top receiving weapons this season. Terrelle Pryor has been a major bust, and some were hoping that he would be traded away prior to the deadline. Josh Doctson has been inconsistent, though he has been a touchdown threat. And Jordan Reed, once again, hasn’t been fully healthy and will be out for the Seattle game. That leaves Crowder as the team’s best option to find space on Sunday.

While the Seahawks are generally thought to be a solid defense, they have been spotty this year. Just last week, the team struggled to contain the Houston offense and surrendered 38 points. Their pass rush and defensive line still looks good, but their secondary is much weaker than before. Richard Sherman has regressed, and they don’t have a true No. 2 cornerback right now, though rookie Shaq Griffin has looked good at times.

With that said, Crowder is going to see a high volume of targets on Sunday because of how the Redskins will utilize him. He will play outside sometimes, but the team will also opt to utilize him in the slot. The Seahawks don’t have the best slot cornerbacks, as Jeremy Lane and Justin Coleman will man the position. The team tried to trade Lane earlier in the week though, so obviously they don’t have a lot of faith in them.

Because of this, Crowder is going to have a chance at another big day. Kirk Cousins is going to be targeting him quite a bit and he should find open space. It shouldn’t be a big surprise to follow up last week’s performance with another strong outing.
