The athleticism, accuracy, poise, and intelligence are right where they need to be. Daniels is growing as a leader, with steely resolve and a natural aura that everyone seems to gravitate toward.
And in Blough's scheme, which should be better suited to his skills, a season more in keeping with his exceptional rookie exploits is well within Daniels' capabilities.
Everyone has to go through adversity at some stage. Daniels is no different, but last season's disaster has only made him stronger.
However, he cannot do it alone.
Washington's revamped defense must be more competitive under Daronte Jones' guidance. The patchwork offensive line must give Daniels the time he needs in the pocket to make things happen. And the improved weapons at his disposal must be consistent whenever targets come their way.
If all this clicks, Daniels knows how to come through when it counts.
The NFL knows it, too.
Daniels isn't a big talker. His media commitments always look like a chore, not something he'd choose to do. He's a man of action. But make no mistake; he'll have heard all the skepticism coming his way throughout the offseason.
