Dyami Brown - Commanders WR

The Washington Commanders still have some questions to answer in the wide receiver room. Adam Peters has made some minor tweaks to the group, but the spots behind Terry McLaurin and third-round rookie Antonio Williams are very much up for grabs.

Raising competition was Peters' biggest priority this offseason. Some experts are rightfully concerned about what will unfold if McLaurin gets hurt again, but speculation remains around another dependable option or two joining the ranks at some stage.

That's to be determined. But either way, returning pass-catcher Dyami Brown faces a fight to make sure his emotional return to Washington isn't short-lived.

Brown left the Commanders last offseason, signing a decent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Things didn't go according to plan, and he was quickly phased out of their plans. Washington gave him a reprieve, but the stakes have been raised with the additions of Williams and intriguing undrafted free agent Chris Hilton Jr.

Nick Bellore - Commanders LB

The Commanders' linebacking corps has gone from a glaring weakness to a potential strength if everyone meets expectations. Free-agent signing Leo Chenal and No. 7 pick Sonny Styles bring more dynamic traits and energy to the unit. With Frankie Luvu moving back to an off-ball role and Jordan Magee still offering promise, all signs are pointing up.

One would expect this quartet to lead the charge, locking down their respective spots on the roster. That may not leave much room for anyone else, so it'll be interesting to watch the battle lower down the depth chart over the summer.

Nick Bellore won't affect the defensive rotation. He's officially listed as a linebacker, but he's a special teams force and nothing more. He's carved out a real niche for himself in this discipline, but at 37 next season and entering the final year of his deal, the Commanders may end up choosing 2025 sixth-rounder Kain Medrano to fill the role instead.

Deatrich Wise Jr. - Commanders DE/OLB

The Commanders were never going to stand still on their defensive front this offseason. Adam Peters needed to enhance the starting options and solidify depth in case injuries struck. That was in short supply last season, and Washington's defense capitulated accordingly.

Peters signed several free agents and spent a couple of draft picks on the interior and edge options. That received widespread praise, and things look a lot more promising now. But for Deatrich Wise Jr., it may leave him on the outside looking in.

Wise joined the Commanders last season. He was expected to be a stout edge-setting presence against the run, but his campaign was cruelly cut short by injury after just two games. Washington gave him another deal, but there are no guarantees regarding his spot after the influx of new arrivals.

The former Arkansas standout could move to a 3-4 defensive end to improve his chances, but Wise's fate is hanging in the balance.
