Nobody will have been more stung by the Washington Commanders' disastrous 2025 season than quarterback Jayden Daniels. He is already going above and beyond to make sure the same doesn't happen again.

Daniels barely saw the field last season. He wasn't alone, with the Commanders' injury bug decimating any chance head coach Dan Quinn's squad had of maintaining their positive momentum. It's brought questions that weren't there previously, and there are now doubters for the signal-caller to silence.

And based on the recent revelations from wide receiver Terry McLaurin, the former LSU star is taking the bull by the horns.

Terry McLaurin confirms what Commanders fans already believed about Jayden Daniels

McLaurin revealed that Daniels led the charge during a recently arranged workout with the quarterback and some of his pass-catchers in Los Angeles. The second-team All-Pro thought this was a good time to bond and enhance relationships. Another is also planned for the summer, with more people involved.

"He led the charge with that. We just wanted to get connected and start from a day-one perspective. It was a time for us to connect and get some work in. Jayden [Daniels] took care of us. He's a very influential person around there, so they rolled out the red carpet. I know he wants to do that again with the broader group of everybody, so I'm looking forward to getting the opportunity to do that again."

This confirms what Commanders fans already knew. Daniels is leading from the front, and everyone else is willingly following his lead.

It's a sign of the belief in Daniels. It's a sign of the collective purpose to get the Commanders back on track. It's a sign that while the offseason is about relaxation and refocusing, there is still time to get the work in if you want it.

This might not seem like much, but it matters.

Building this chemistry now, whether it's already developed or not, can only be a good thing. Considering how little Daniels and McLaurin played or practiced together last year, it could be a great thing if it helps rekindle the spark between the two. And for the others who came along for the ride, it should serve them well.

This is just the start. The Commanders are back in the building for voluntary workouts. Washington's OTAs are on the immediate horizon. Business is about to pick up, and Daniels will be at the forefront of everything.

Deatrich Wise Jr. recently said that Daniels has the look of a man ready to take over the league. And his impact on the Commanders continues to go way beyond the field.
