Commanders vs. Eagles - Week 8

The Washington Commanders should be well-rested, refocused, and hopefully healthier after their bye week. And head coach Dan Quinn will be looking for his squad to make a real statement on prime time against the Philadelphia Eagles on home soil.
Despite not being at their best against the Eagles in Week 1, they came within a failed two-point conversion attempt of tying things up late. Philadelphia eventually came away with the triumph, but it's clear something isn't quite right in the building.
The Eagles have talent; there is no getting away from that. There are also some real cracks emerging, and their thumping loss to the Case Keenum-led Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football in Week 3 exposed these frailties to a national audience.
Jalen Hurts cut a frustrated figure. The offense still looks bland and predictable. Saquon Barkley isn't getting anything going on the ground, and their once vaunted offensive line is no longer the force of old.
They are sound defensively, but the Commanders have a shot here.
- Prediction: Win (4-3)
The Commanders can win this game. And with some extra time to prepare, there is nothing to suggest they cannot get their post-bye-week exploits underway by getting one over on their bitter NFC East rivals.
Commanders vs. LA Rams - Week 9

The Los Angeles Rams came into the season as overwhelming Super Bowl favorites, and it wasn't hard to see why.
Trading for All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett, securing cornerback Trent McDuffie via trade from the Kansas City Chiefs, and defensive lineman Aaron Donald coming out of retirement sent hype through the roof. The Rams were going all in to win the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium, and calling them a trendy pick would be an understatement.
That might still be the case, but things haven't started well. Garrett is on injured reserve, but he should be back for this one. The Rams are 1-2, and it's clearly taking some time to become a cohesive unit.
The Commanders have the benefit of being at home with the Rams coming cross-country for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. They took advantage of that against the Seattle Seahawks, but this is arguably more challenging.
On paper, the Rams look like a far superior team. But as we saw in Week 3, anything can happen on any given Sunday in the NFL.
If the Commanders can get off to a fast start, they can make things uncomfortable. But the offensive line has to show some mettle versus Garrett and Donald to stand any chance of being successful.
- Prediction: Loss (4-4)
This could end in a defeat. But being 4-4 after navigating the toughest part of their schedule isn't the worst situation for Dan Quinn's squad.
