Commanders at 49ers - Week 6

This would be the fourth game without quarterback Jayden Daniels, though he will no doubt be pushing to return by now. The Washington Commanders must treat this situation with extreme caution, but at least the injury isn't to his throwing arm.
With the Commanders having a bye after their Monday Night Football clash against the San Francisco 49ers, risking Daniels here might not be all that smart. Giving him an extra three weeks to heal could make the world of difference, and they cannot afford any more complications.
The Niners are also dealing with some injuries, but they have started the campaign in imposing fashion. Their offense is humming with Brock Purdy under center and Christian McCaffrey in the backfield. George Kittle is back and hasn't lost any of his physical presence, and left tackle Trent Williams is still stonewalling anyone in his path on the blindside.
San Francisco's defense is explosive, with dominant linebacker Fred Warner setting the tone. The Commanders will have their hands full almost everywhere, and if they are not up for the challenge, this could be a long evening at the office.
- Prediction: Loss (1-5)
Expect the worst and hope for the best. But this looks like a tall order for the Commanders before their extended rest over the bye week.
Commanders vs. Eagles - Week 8

This one is tricky to figure out.
The Washington Commanders will be fresh and raring to go coming off their bye week. Depending on what comes out of the specialist visits, they might have Jayden Daniels back, too.
That will be in a brace that will limit his impact, but it's a risk the Commanders might be willing to take against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8.
And with Daniels back under center, everyone will get a huge lift.
The Commanders didn't start well versus Philadelphia in Week 1. A late rally got them within touching distance of tying it up, and they may have won the game if it had been a more complete performance.
If Daniels is on the field, the Commanders have a shot. But the offensive line interior has to do a better job of containing Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis.
Sam Cosmi continued his good form against Carter in Week 1. Nick Allegretti and Chris Paul were woeful, and with the Eagles having answers to contain wide receiver Terry McLaurin, this could get complicated if the same happens again.
- Prediction: Loss (1-6)
The Eagles are vulnerable, but they find ways to find. The Commanders just aren't doing that right now, and a 1-6 start to the campaign would be nothing short of catastrophic.
