Jamin Davis - Commanders LB

Jamin Davis is a curious case. The linebacker is undoubtedly talented and continues to put up decent numbers. That said, one could also class his career so far with the underachievement tag given the physical tools at his disposal.

The Washington Commanders have a big decision to make regarding Davis' fifth-year option this offseason. Ron Rivera chose the wait and see approach more often than not. Whether this is something new general manager Adam Peters plans to adopt remains to be seen.

Davis could be heading into a contract year if the Commanders decide to maintain the status quo. This is a gamble, especially considering how the presence of Dan Quinn could take the former first-round pick's game to new heights in 2024.

Just where Davis is best utilized remains a hot topic of discussion. Some believe he can grow as an interior presence with better options around him on defense. Others want the Kentucky product moved onto the edge to see if he can provide a boost to Washington's non-existent pass-rush.

It's hard to gauge how much Davis might seek on his next deal based on the production sample size so far. But if he thrives under the tutelage of Quinn and defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr., anywhere between $8-12 million per season might be an ambitious yet attainable goal.
