The NFL is a multi-billion-dollar business that is growing in popularity with every passing year. This is something the league is taking full advantage of, with more platforms than ever before paying megabucks to broadcast or stream games on their respective services.

It's great news for the players with a soaring salary cap and historical contracts. But for fans, it can be an absolute minefield and pretty expensive business, especially for those who don't live in the region.

The Washington Commanders haven't been a desirable team to watch in recent seasons. However, that's about to change under the new regime after one of the most dramatic offseasons in franchise history. Something that could see this once-proud organization enter playoff consideration sooner rather than later.

How to watch Commanders games with cable TV

The Commanders have just two primetime games this season. Not entirely surprising when one considers their downward spiral under previous head coach Ron Rivera and the fact they won just four games in 2023. Their remaining contests will be shown either on CBS or FOX. Most packages also include ABC, which is the affiliate for Monday Night Football.

Here is Washington's full regular-season slate in 2024 and the broadcast partner set to carry the clash.

  • Week 1 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Sunday, Sept. 8 at 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX)
  • Week 2 vs. New York Giants - Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1:00 p.m. ET (FOX)

How to stream Commanders games without cable TV

As previously mentioned, the Commanders will be under the national spotlight twice during the 2024 season. There's a chance of getting flexed into primetime later in the campaign, but this is how things stand currently.

Commanders fans out-of-market or without the correct cable package have an abundance of options at their disposal to watch their favorite team. Here are the streaming providers set to showcase Washington games during the season.

  • NFL Sunday Ticket is available on YouTube. This is the primary destination for most fans and shows all games, the Commanders included.
  • Amazon Prime will be the home of Washington's clash with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football.
  • NFL+ has access to all the Commanders' preseason games. They don't show any live action during the regular season, but highlights are available during and after games.
  • Paramount+ will stream all Washington games scheduled to feature on CBS.
  • FuboTV has a seven-day free trial and is an alternative to cable.
  • FOX Sports, ESPN, and NBC Sports apps don't require a subscription if they are included in your cable package. Simply log in and enjoy the games.

Washington doesn't have any games on Netflix or Peacock as it stands right now. That should save fans some cash, at least.

This is going to be an enthralling season. For the Commanders, it's a chance to re-establish the aura that was lost over Dan Snyder's ownership. Fan interest is at levels not seen for decades - something Dan Quinn and his players must capitalize on when their big moments arrive.
