Joey Slye - Commanders K

  • Player Grade: C+

There may be other factors that go into a kicker’s wayward attempts. But the fact remains that Joey Slye has missed two of his six attempts this season.

He is very talented, but I still hold my breath when the game is on the line. Hopefully, it doesn;t cost the Washington Commanders a game or two this season.

Tress Way - Commanders P

  • Player Grade: A

No explanation is needed here. But I will say that Tress Way has become one of the best bad-snap holders in the league in addition to being an elite punter.

Camaron Cheeseman - Commanders LS

  • Player Grade: D

The Commanders brought in five potential replacements for Camaron Cheeseman this week. That’s not a good sign.

The fact that they chose not to sign them gives the long snapper at least one more week to steady the ship. I suspect he will, but the pressure is on.

Jamison Crowder - Commanders KR

  • Player Grade: B-

Who will the punt returner be – Daz Milne or Kazmeir Allen? None of the above.

When veteran Jamison Crowder became available, the Commanders brought him home. It is nice to have a genuine professional return man back there. He may not break a big run, but he will make the right play.

I will not grade Antonio Gibson as a kick returner. He has only had one return through two games. The kickoff return will soon be a thing of the past.
