Commanders HC Ron Rivera's strong message
There was something new in the Washington Commanders locker room on Wednesday. When reporters got the chance to enter the facility to speak with players after practice, a new sign greeted them with a simple yet strong message.
DO YOU JOB.
That is Ron Rivera taking a page out of Bill Belichick's book, who's taken on this mantra throughout a trophy-laden spell with the New England Patriots that spanned almost two decades. Whether it has similar success is another matter, but Washington's head coach felt that it was necessary based on comments via The Spun.
"Because I think, looking at the tape, watching the games, our previous five games, looking at some of the stuff that I read, the numbers, obviously to me, there's a sense and a feel that we're not doing the things that we need to do."

There was a distinct lack of execution - especially on defense - during the Commanders' torrid loss against the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. With a good period of rest, extra preparation time, and increased urgency across the board, it would be immensely discouraging if better fortunes didn't arrive at the Atlanta Falcons.
Anything less would cast further doubt about the team's current direction under Rivera's guidance. Something that won't go unnoticed by Josh Harris and members of his ownership group.
