Commanders News: Sale concern, Brian Robinson Jr., Jamin Davis and Eric Bieniemy
By Dean Jones
Which Washington Commanders' news stories are hitting the headlines as everyone enjoys their Memorial Weekend break before the second stage of OTAs?
Everyone is taking a step back and relaxing across the country for Memorial Day Weekend. For the Washington Commanders, it's also a time to refresh and group before descending on the facility once again for another batch of OTAs as preparations for the new campaign gather pace.
And yet, the news keeps churning. Among the topics causing debate recently include Jamin Davis' injury status, Brian Robinson Jr. receiving praise, the Commanders' sale taking another twist, and the prospect of Eric Bieniemy replacing Ron Rivera in 2024 coming under the spotlight.
Let's delve into each topic in more detail.
Commanders LB Jamin Davis' injury status
There was some concern among Washington Commanders fans when Jamin Davis was spotted working on the sidelines during OTAs. The team needs the former first-round pick to take a major leap in 2023 with little in the way of depth at the defensive second level, so losing him for a considerable period would be a devastating blow to the team's chances.
When asked about Davis' status this week, head coach Ron Rivera stated via USA Today Sports that he'd undergone a minor clean-up procedure on his knee. The player's absence is also not expected to be anything too long.
"Jamin Davis is only going through walkthroughs and meetings right now. He had a minor cleanup procedure on his knee from a lingering issue from last season. He’ll continue to work his way back into the mix, and we’re not worried about this being a long-time thing."

Hopefully, Davis can recover in time for training camp. But it's something worth keeping an eye on.
