Josh Harris' confidence in Commanders future
Optimism is quickly returning to the Washington Commanders after another woeful season. Fans came to terms with not reaching expectations a long time ago. They were more intent on looking to the future once their Week 18 game against the Dallas Cowboys became confined to the history books.
Josh Harris was quick to thank the fans for their unrivaled commitment to the cause in troubling times via Sports Illustrated. The majority ownership partner also boldly claimed the future is bright once his vision for the franchise becomes a reality.
"You guys [the fans] showed up in droves, you believed in us. We sold out every game, even with a four-win season. Now granted, there were a few visiting fans there, but that's on us, we're not in the playoffs. So, thank you for showing up. The future is bright, we have a lot of cap space, we have a great ownership group, we're very committed to winning for this city, and look forward to showing you, in addition to telling you, over the next series of years."

Talk is cheap, especially for a team that's endured almost nothing but hardship for more than two decades. Harris cares deeply about the Commanders as a lifelong fan. He's also got the right men around him to make sure this critical offseason goes as expected or perhaps even better than anticipated.
