Commanders intrigue with Jim Harbaugh

Jim Harbaugh's national college football championship triumph was the icing on his Michigan cake. This could also be the end of his time with the Wolverines as speculation continues to mount about the respected head coach returning to the NFL.

The Washington Commanders are reportedly interested in speaking to Harbuagh according to Jordan Schultz from The Bleacher Report. No formal approach has been made as yet, but it's a fluid situation that should become a little clearer once the new head of football operations is confirmed.

Brent Sobleski from The Bleacher Report placed the Commanders at No. 4 in his list of intriguing destinations for Harbaugh, ahead of only the Carolina Panthers. He also laid out how much hard work is ahead to mold this roster into a contender.

"The new ownership group under the direction of Josh Harris is willing to make big moves. The Commanders' infrastructure should be vastly improved in short order. However, the same can't be said about the roster. The Commanders don't have a franchise quarterback. They could very well land one with this year's second overall pick, though a rookie signal-caller may not be Harbaugh's preferred path upon taking the job. The offensive line ranked among the league's worst. Washington's run game ranked sixth-worst. A lot needs to be fixed for an older coach ready to win as soon as he steps in the door."

Harbaugh is a winner. He's an acquired taste to many, but he gets the job done. Getting the chance to speak with him is due diligence from Josh Harris and his hiring committee at the very least.
