Commanders to face Aaron Rodgers?
As if things couldn't get any worse for the Washington Commanders, they might have to face future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers as part of his almost miraculous recovery from a torn Achilles suffered just four snaps into his New York Jets debut. This is a contentious issue considering Gang Green isn't close to being in playoff contention, so there is substantial risk involved with very little reward attached.
According to NFL media via CBS Sports, Rodgers is targeting Christmas Eve against the Commanders for his sensational return to the starting lineup. The report added it won't matter if the Jets are playing for anything or not - the four-time NFL MVP wants to get back this season.
"As for when Rodgers could return to real action, NFL Media reports the four-time NFL MVP is targeting the Week 16 Christmas Eve matchup against the Washington Commanders. Rodgers had previously said he was targeting a mid-December return, and Fox Sports reported that Rodgers wants to play regardless of the team's place in the playoff picture."

This is something the Commanders need to plan for. It might not come to fruition, but head coach Ron Rivera cannot afford to be embarrassed by Rodgers on his first game back with his own job prospects hanging in the balance.
