Commanders HC Ron Rivera's milestone

Ron Rivera has seen a lot throughout his football journey. But not many of his 100 wins as head coach would have been nearly as dramatic.

The Washington Commanders got off to a disastrous start at the Denver Broncos. They were in a deep hole early, but a late first-half rally kept them in the contest, and the adjustments made afterward enabled them to gain a priceless win against all odds.

Rivera was given the game ball to mark his century by majority owner Josh Harris, which was fitting. When discussing the achievement post-game, the respected figure was keen to keep the focus on his team based on comments via The Washington Times.

"It’s really cool. It really is. I’m really fortunate to have so many players and coaches that helped me get to where I am today. This is something that’s really about the team effort, and I’m very fortunate to have a lot of people to get me where I am today."

There's been a noticeable shift in Rivera's demeanor since Harris and his wealthy team of investors bought the Commanders from Dan Snyder for $6.05 billion. That's rubbing off on his players based on their first two games of the season - something that could see this once-proud franchise become one of the league's surprise packages if everything continues in a similar fashion.
